iOS 17 won’t be available for Apple iPhone X and earlier models

Yesterday, made an announcement about the release of , which comes with several notable features such as StandBy mode, NameDrop, and Live Voicemail. However, as is typical with new versions, certain older iPhone models will not be supported. This year, the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus models fall into that category.

To experience iOS 17, users will need an iPhone XS series or a newer model that meets Apple’s compatibility requirements. The second and third-generation iPhone SE models are still supported, indicating that the aging A11 Bionic chipset is likely the limiting factor for the iPhone X and 8 series.

Moving on to 17, Apple has also decided to end support for the first-generation iPad Pro models and the fifth-generation iPad, which was introduced in 2017.
